MY STORY

David's love of golf began as soon as he could walk. At as early as two years old he could be seen swinging a plastic golf club and running after the golf ball. David comes from a family of avid golfers, so it's no wonder David developed a passion for the sport. Growing up, David would travel to Pinehurst on weekends to play with his Grandfather (David), Father (John) and Uncle (Karl). All three played an integral part in the development of his golf skills and reinforced his growing passion.

David knew from a young age that he wanted golf to be his future. In middle school David began his journey in competitive golf, entering his first tournament, The NJGT Edgewater Open, at the age of 12. Despite struggling and shooting 172 over two rounds, he came out more determined than ever to improve and compete harder. From that day on, David set his sights on becoming a collegiate golfer and creating a career out of the sport he loved

While playing on the Charlotte Christian Golf Team, David's golf achievements caught the eye of Coach Delmar at the University of Maryland. Maryland proved to be the perfect fit for David and he committed to the University during his junior year of high school. The pinnacle of his junior golf career was winning the North South Junior in 2014, in Pinehurst, the same course that had originally inspired David's love for the game.

At the University of Maryland, David discovered his passion for leadership as he was Captain of the University of Maryland Golf Team during the 2017-2018 season. His game continued to improve. David qualified for the US Amateur for three straight years, won two college tournaments, qualified for NCAA Regionals four years in a row as an individual, and earned a title as University of Maryland's career scoring average leader. These successes and the support he received at Maryland propelled David to take the next step in his golf career. After his graduation in May of 2018, David turned professional, fulfilling a life-long dream.
